Meeting at Iowa State Capital
Jeff Kaufman called me tonight to tell me that everything is a go for the 25th. He asked me to tell everybody that he would like us to meet at 10:15 at a room to be determined later. Jeff seems very upbeat with this new legislation and said that if there was ever a time to have everybody show up at the capital that was the day.
He said everything hinges on the size of the crowd that day to get the attention of the legislators.
Jeff would also like for us to stay that afternoon to pack the balcony so that the house can see that there are people out there that want this thing changed. It is entirely up to us to make this work.
Apparently the press is already getting wind of this . I had a reporter call me today to ask a few questions about our situation in Clarke county. I'm not sure who else she called but Jeff told me that she contacted the NRCS and they told her that they felt that Jeff should not be sticking his nose into their business. That's great. Jeff asked me again tonight if I had an idea how many would be at the capital that day so please let me know when you have an idea. Also, if somebody from every county could contact the state Farm Bureau office and ask them to support us and try to get some people there would be great.
